Radon in Water and Air - Map, Average radon levels in household air and well-water, by county, in Maine

- In general, air radon levels tend to be higher in counties with correspondingly high levels of water radon but the pattern is not uniform.
- Average air radon levels do not vary as much, county by county, as do average water radon levels. (However, air radiation levels vary a great deal, house to house, in all counties, due to details of house construction.)
- Several counties show relatively low levels of radon in their well water and relatively high levels in household air.
