Robert Jucius
Inducted into the Francis Crowe Society, 12/03
Robert Jucius received his B.S. in Engineering Physics - University of Maine, 1965. Shortly after graduation, he worked in the Army and for Navy and NASA contractors in health and radiation physics positions, and spent several years with GE's medical systems division in Milwaukee as a physicist. Then in Ohio, he was Senior Principal Physicist for a Johnson and Johnson company, and Radiation Safety Officer for other two companies and for University Hospitals of Cleveland.
He has now moved back to Maine, where he is Radiation Safety Officer for the radiation oncology department at Eastern Maine Medical Center, overseeing the use and safety of the latest in cancer treatment equipment and techniques. His role in the planning of safe protocols for the delivery of radiation to often highly specific target areas in cancer patients is central to the life-preserving mission of his department.
Robert has served on one of our program review visiting panels for the past several years, and we are highly appreciative of his contributions in that capacity.
We are delighted and proud to be able today to recognize Robert Jusius' many contributions to the lives and health of people in Ohio, Maine, and many other states, through his work in the ‘fledgling' discipline of Medical Physics over the last three decades.
Congratulations, Robert, on your induction into the Francis Crowe Society.
