Charles Wallace received his B.S. in Engineering Physics and his M.B.A. both from the University of Maine. He began practicing engineering in 1965 and, in 1970, focused his career on environmental work. In 1977, Mr. Wallace formed the company now known as Resource Systems Engineering, where he serves as president. Since the company's formation, all of its activities, including computer system development, computer modeling, designs, permits and studies have been completed under his direct supervision. Mr. Wallace has been responsible for project management, detailed designs, and preparation of comprehensive environmental impact studies on major projects in Maine, Michigan, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Nova Scotia. He has attended courses, seminars, and workshops on stormwater and erosion control design, ethics for environmental professionals, underground storage tank technology, remediation of petroleum-contaminated sites, implementing the 1990 Clean Air Act, environmental liability, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and asbestos management. He is a lifetime member of Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society, and part of many other professional organizations. He also has been an active contributor to his community, where he has served as the commissioner of the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department, as a coach, and on the Boards of Directors of Brunswick's Youth Soccer and Youth Hockey Leagues. He was instrumental in finding and developing new soccer fields and constructing an outside ice arena. In his 37 years of engineering practice, Mr. Wallace's career includes the elements of outstanding professional achievement, extensive community service, and lifelong learning, which we would like to recognize today through his induction into the Francis Crowe Society.
